Eligibility
Alfred Ely Beach High School graduating senior
Grade Point Average of 3.0 or higher.
Accepted and enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university
Scholarship Application and Video Submission Guidelines
Applicants must submit the scholarship application form and submit three letters of recommendation (letters from family members not accepted).
Record an original 3-5 min video in English describing your academic and/or career goals and how this scholarship can help you achieve them
Videos must be original, created for the sole purpose of the scholarship application, and uploaded to a YouTube channel with link provided at the time of application submission.
A copy of the most current school transcript.
Scholarship Timelines
Applicants for the Vernon L. Jones Sr. SOAR Scholarship must be submitted by March 1st of the funding year.
Notifications of scholarship awards will be made in May.
Scholarship Accountability
The Vernon and Deloris Jones Foundation will disburse scholarship funds upon proof of enrollment.
The Foundation will disperse the scholarship payment (one-time) to the institution directly within 30 days of receipt of proof of enrollment.
